Well, for this entire interview, I've tiptoed around one issue: the fan reaction to Mat in THE GATHERING STORM....
It's curious. I've gotten around 1500 emails about TGS so far...
Of those 1500, only a handful mention Mat. However, he IS the one brought up the most often. Oddly, it's almost exactly divided between people saying, "I love how you did Mat, he's my favorite part of the book," and people saying, "I loved everything about the book, except Mat didn't feel right."

Nn capisco proprio il perché...

So...where does that leave us? I'm not sure. I do realize that my sense of humor is slightly different from Robert Jordan's sense of humor. And perhaps if I had to do it again, I wouldn't lead with the monologue from Mat that I used, because that's where the difference is most obvious....
I think that in the narrative, though--the places aside from the monologues--Mat is still Mat. Of course, Mat had some really big things happen to him in KOD, things that have shaken him and the way he sees the world. But at his core, he's still the same person.

Quel monologo è geniale Nn capisco cosa ci sia di tanto strano in quel che dice Mat E' vero che le varie esperienze l'hanno cambiato, ma nn mi pare che quel monologo sia fortemente indicativo di questo cambiamento, nn ci vedo nulla di strano. Immagino sia dovuto al fatto che americani, inglesi e italiani hanno un diverso senso dell'umorismo e forse è x questo che loro lo vedono così diverso dal solito Mat boh...

However, if you were worried about him, it should help you to know that the large bulk of the Mat sequences Robert Jordan wrote are in TOWERS OF MIDNIGHT. There is a lot more Robert Jordan Mat to come.

I realize that knowing Asmo's killer will be bittersweet for some of us. The mystery will be over and done. In some ways, that's sad.

Spero che sia bittersweet solo perchè una volta rivelato non si potrà più speculare e non perchè la verità è deludente..

Know this, however: Mr. Jordan listed some mysteries in the notes that are NOT to be solved. Perhaps you should try to guess which ones.

As for the mysteries, there are indeed some that Mr. Jordan did not reveal in the notes. All he said was: "This is not revealed."

I can't say much more about mysteries. I've said before that all major plotlines have resolution. Unresolved things are smaller.

una delle trame che resteranno irrisolte, mi pare che sia la fine delle rosse andate alla Torre Nera... peccato perché Pevara e Tarna mi erano molto simpatiche...Sanderson aveva però detto che se ci riusciva, magari pubblicava via internet un pezzo con le loro vicende..

Strano però, da qualche parte qui verso gli ultimi minuti dell'intervista dice che in TGS non abbiamo letto Logain, di Padan Fain e di Pevara perchè voleva che TGS fosse più 'focused', ma che in ToM ci saranno [SM=x494553]

Cavolo una cosa così mi sembrerebbe parecchio strana. 6 Aes Sedai legate ad Asha'man Amici delle Tenebre meritano almeno qualche pagina, non fosse altro per la particolarità della cosa.

Per il resto credo sia normale che non tutti abbia una risposta, ma dipende da cosa non la otterrà.

Per esempio (Spoiler il Drago Rinato)

E' praticamente certo che l'Else Grimwell che Mat incontra per i corridoi della Torre prima di battersi con Galad e Gawyn fosse Selene/Lanfear. Ma anche se non arrivasse mai una conferma su questo non ci sarebbero problemi

Ecco se non si risolveranno cose del genere la qualità non ne risentirà, almeno a mio modo di vedere.

I won't mention specifically who's going to be in the book but some that could be, I mean we haven't heard from Loial, in a while, we haven't heard from Padan Fain, we haven't heard from Lan, from the Black Tower.. I mean there's a lot of stuff going on, I mean Pevara, Logain.. So much going on that I intentionally didn't do cause I wanted this book to be more focused. Next book we are going to get all of that."

sono contento allora... si vede che il pezzo che voleva pubblicare solo su internet è riuscito ad infilarlo nel prox libro in uscita (e sempre che delle vicende di Pevara non si sappia solo per sentito dire da altri...)

io spero ancora che Pevara non sia finita male... visto che è una delle poche rosse degne di qualche considerazione...

A proposito di Pevara. Tempo fa Brandon aveva detto di aver scritto circa 50mila parole sulla sua vicenda, ma di non essere sicuro di riuscire ad inserirle o in ToM o in AMoL. Ieri, a specifica domanda, ha risposto su Twitter, riferendosi a ToM: "Got two chapters of it in. Decided I could juggle the timeline, maybe, to get the rest into Bk 3".

In un altra occasione, aveva detto che, se non fosse riuscito a trovare spazio per pubblicare tutte le 50K parole, avrebbe chiesto ad Harriet di poterle rendere comunque disponibili nel sito.

Brandon dice che a quanto pare ToM avrà 70 capitoli! [SM=x494544]

E il capitolo 60 sarà 'heart-wrenching' e che è uno di quelli di cui è più fiero..

Mh mi domando se qualcuno ci lascerà le penne.. [SM=x494618]

Basta che il salvataggio di Moir non succede lì alla fine, eccheccavolo voglio vederla in azione in questo libro! Come minimo prima della fine oltre a venire salvata deve incontrarsi con Rand [SM=x494550]
