Swords: crown sword & baton insignia on blade and hilt

Hello,

I'll try to post some pics when I get the hang of it but the blade is etched, has no sharpening. it has a brass scabbord. Im told it is P1845 and the blade has a makers name Pulford and son which dates the blade to about 1870 I reckon. My main question is that the hilt shows a crown with what looks like a sword crossed with a baton type symbol under it. The blade has the same etching on too.Any ideas?

Please help.
