Dopo alcuni intermezzi su Perrin, Mat, Egwene e Nyn, scopriamo che Elayne si incontra spesso con Rand che le chiede molti consigli preziosi su come governare.
Vediamo anche Rand alle prese con i Sommi SIgnori che lo fanno imbestialire una volta di più.
Si presenta poi Selene, che si rivela essere Lanfear, con grande disappunto di Rand.
Lei lo scherma e gli parla di un futuro assieme al comando del Mondo, un futuro in cui potrebbero sfidare il Creatore stesso con i loro poteri!
All'improvviso entra un Uomo Grigio e Rand lo uccide, ed istintivamente protegge Lanfear.
Che Selene fosse Lanfear il lettore l'aveva già capito da più di un libro, ma per Rand deve essere una bella sorpresa! ![[SM=x494538]](https://img.freeforumzone.it/smiles/5/15.gif)
Non riesce conmunque ad eliminare il comportamento protettivo nei confronti delle donne caratteristico degli uomini dei Fiumi Gemelli...
Lanfy poi accenna a due sa'angreal ancora più potenti di Callndor... uno l'abbiamo già incontrato: la statua gigante vicino Cairhien, ma l'altro???
In alcune discusisoni su questo forum se n'é già parlato, ma l'unica soluzione sembrerebbe essere l'Anello di Tamyrlin, che LTT indossava in quanto "Capo" degli Aes Sedai nell'Epoca Leggendaria...

Da questo capitolo si capisce proprio che Lanfear segue una strada tutta sua! Avrebbe potuto uccidere o catturare Rand in un nanosecondo! La Figlia della Notte è senza dubbio una variabile interessante!
