Non ho capito la teoria sul DO = il Tempo
Non è al di fuori del tempo lui, così come il Creatore?
Io ho sempre pensato che il tempo sia iniziato con la creazione della Ruota e del Disegno, e se il DO riuscisse a distruggerli il tempo finirebbe, così come la creazione.

Sul fatto che il DO sia una parte essenziale del Disegno sono d'accordo. Uno dei temi maggiori della serie finora è stato l'equilibrio (basti pensare all'effetto ta'veren che bilancia effetti negativi e positivi) e il DO deve esserci per servire da controparte al Creatore.

C'è un tipo che l'ha spiegato bene tra l'altro..

The DO serves a purpose for the Wheel, he is needed.
Think of the idea of evolution: The species in the world evolve because of change, because of mutation. Change is the key to progress. That which changes survive, that which stays the same perishes.
Now in the world of the WoT, the Dark One is the source of necessary change. Think of him as a source of radiative energy and this radiation in very small doses causes necessary mutations and the necessary change. Usually, this source is sealed away and only tiny amounts of change enter the Pattern.
While the Creator can only create order, the world needs order and chaos to strive. So this is the reason why there is a Dark One.
But too much chaos causes destruction (as too much radiation can cause cancer). This is the problem of the Wheel of Time: while a little chaos is needed, the DO always strives to cause more.

Quindi il DO deve esserci per forza, Rand non può ucciderlo (tra l'altro sono sicura che non si possa letteralmente uccidere come una persona) come gli dice anche Moridin in TGS, che non capisce che gran cavolata ha detto. Se non ci fosse il DO il Disegno non avrebbe motivo di esistere e non potrebbe neanche esistere.
